Xi Chapter was established through the Kappa Chapter, Hillsdale.
The chapter voted to voluntarily surrender its charter at the close of the college in June 1944.
When the chapter was closed after 62 years in existence, a total of 372 members had been initiated.
Xi Chapter has the distinction of being the only listing under “X” in The History of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity, 1870–1930.
Ryll Spaur Clark, initiated in 1928, was the only pledge on the campus for nearly a year. She said about her experience: "Being a lone pledge was not all beer and skittles. … It would have been so much fun if there had been a gang of us."
The chapter flower was the forget-me-not.
