Journey to Monmouth

Highlights

Leading up to our sesquicentennial celebration in October 2020, we’re giving 4 groups of Kappas the opportunity to Journey to Monmouth and see where all of the magic happened in 1870.

These Journeys give each Kappa the chance to learn more about our founders, how our amazing sisterhood was born, see the sites around Monmouth, and build friendships with other women making the journey.

Two of the journeys have taken place, and two more are on the horizon (Fall 2019 and Spring 2020). Journey participants will be selected through an Instagram contest…keep your eyes open for details to come!

Check out the hashtags #kappaturns150 and #monmouthcontest to see submissions from the past contests.

Journey to Monmouth contest now open!

This fall (Oct. 25–27), six collegians will be selected for an all-expenses-paid trip. The winning collegians will be selected through an Instagram contest. The core of the contest will showcase our members’ storytelling abilities via social media. How would you answer the question: “What does Kappa's heritage mean to you and your Kappa experience?” After reviewing Instagram posts that use our selected hashtags and video submissions, six winners will be invited to continue telling their story live on Kappa’s official social media platforms during their weekend in Monmouth.

The contest ends Wednesday, Sept. 25.

We’d love to hear from as many of you as possible! If you have any questions, please reach out to Ella Vieira, member of the Sesquicentennial Committee, at ellakkg@gmail.com (Instagram: @ellagmr) or Kappa Kappa Gamma Headquarters at socialmedia@kappa.org (Instagram: @kappakappagamma).

    • Optional hashtags include #visitmonmouth, #onceuponabridge, and any new ideas proposed by contest participants!

    • Due to their longevity, only Instagram posts (not stories) will be considered.
