  1. In 1882, Alpha Phi was the only women’s fraternity at Northwestern. During the winter, several freshmen conceived the idea of starting a chapter of a rival fraternity. The result was Upsilon Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma.

  2. The Bylaws of Mu Chapter, Butler, were read and taken as a model for Upsilon.

  3. Carla Sargent Fisk was Grand Secretary from 1896–1900. During that time, she designed the sigma in the delta, which later became the new member pin.

Fun facts:

  1. Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in May 2018 and became the Duchess of Sussex.

  2. The chapter President wears a historical badge that has been handed down to each President of the chapter.

  3. The house was beautifully renovated in 2016. The new living room is used to host movie nights or to bring the chapter together to watch the election or political debates.
