Historical facts: ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

  1. The first member of Eta Chapter was selected randomly from the university catalog of names. 

  2. Eta Chapter's former chapter house was on Park Street, which is where the humanities building is currently located. 

  3. Eta Chapter had only 33 members in 1971. 

  4. Eta Chapter built its first chapter house at 425 N. Park St. and it was the first house in Madison, Wisconsin, to be built by a women's fraternity as a home for its active chapter.

  5. Eta Chapter was ravaged by the 1918 flu and lost five members.

Fun facts:

  1. The roof of the house was a great place for sunbathing in the spring, but it's closed off and too dangerous now. 

  2. Eta Chapter's house mother was teargassed on the front lawn during the anti-Vietnam War riots. 

  3. While the members were in a chapter meeting, the Betas snuck into the house and put stinky cheese under all of the radiators and then let mice loose.
