Epsilon Phi
University of Florida
1978
Historical facts:
Kappa Kappa Gamma and Greek Week arrived at the University of Florida the same weekend: March 3–5, 1978.
The first official chapter meeting was held on March 5 and a campus reception was held that afternoon at the Gainesville Garden Center.
In 1979, the lot for the future Kappa house was purchased.
Fun facts:
The bright yellow posters proclaiming the establishment for Epsilon Phi at the University of Florida said: “We need a special kind of girl!” And the extension team found 40 very special young women. Each one was enthusiastic, outstanding and eager to be part of a Kappa chapter.
Recruitment rounds were held at the chapter houses of Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma and Alpha Delta Pi. Epsilon Phi’s establishment was truly a Panhellenic affair.
