  1. Delta Tau Chapter was the second chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma established in Los Angeles. Gamma Xi Chapter, UCLA, was the first.

  2. Delta Tau was installed on Nov. 7, 1947, and Fraternity President Ruth Kadel Seacrest, Nebraska, presided with assistance from Marion Howell Tompkins, Penn State. Executive Secretary Clara O. Pierce, Ohio State, made the trip from Kappa’s Central Office in Columbus, Ohio, for the event. 

  3. Delta Tau was the 15th sorority on campus, and the installation included 250 Kappas who had read of the events in 175 neighborhood newspapers throughout Southern California.

Fun facts:

  1. In 2020, Delta Tau hosted its first joint philanthropic event with Kappa Alpha Theta called the Kite and Key Car Wash.

  2. Delta Tau had a chapter magazine called the Delta Taudian.

  3. The chapter's most popular philanthropic event is Trick or Read, where members give out books and candy to neighborhood kids who trick or treat on sorority row.
