  1. Beta Psi Chapter is the oldest international chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma. It was installed on May 24, 1911. 

  2. Originally, the women who made up the first Beta Psi Chapter were known as Xi Zeta Gamma, which began in 1906.

  3. Rose McGill, the namesake of Kappa's emergency aid fund, joined Beta Psi Chapter in 1920. With no family and ill with tuberculosis, Rose was supported by Beta Psi Chapter until 1922, when the fund in her name was established and the Fraternity provided assistance until her death in 1927.

Fun facts:

  1. The proceeds of philanthropic event “Kappanda” go toward scholarships awarded by the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation of Canada.

  2. Barbara Leamen McDougall, a former member of the Canadian Parliament, escorted Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother during her tour of Canada in 1986. 

  3. Members of Beta Psi helped with war efforts during both world wars.
